前回紹介したジャマイカ出身のモンティ・アレキサンダーが1971年から1977年にかけて、MPSレーベルに残した音源、LPレコード6枚分が4枚組みのCDになって発売されました。

どのレコードもジャズの師匠にお借りして聴いてはいたものの、また聴きたいと思いながらCDは見つからず・・・それもそのはず、この音源のCD化は初めてということ。
大喜びで早速購入しました。

演奏している曲目はスタンダード、ポピュラー、オリジナルなど盛りだくさん。

ビートルズ、カーペンターズ、スティービー・ワンダー、ミッシェル・ルグランなどのお馴染みの曲や「ラブ・ストーリー」のテーマ、「リパブリック賛歌」・・どれもとびきり楽しい演奏です。
